Class Reflection

We discussed today in class, how Gatsby has been living in the past throughout the book. He has been running off of love from the old Daisy and has been trying to see the old her in the new Daisy. We said how people should live in the present not the past. The result of living in the past aren't  always as extreme as death, as in Gatsby's case, but the consequences are there. If people live in the past, they become unaware of the things going on around them.
