William Bradford
William Bradford was the author of the journal Of Plymouth Plantation. He was a puritan in England until James I began persecuting Puritans. That's when he decided to flee from England and go to the Netherlands. In same year he helped found Plymouth, his first wife Dorothy died. Bradford married his second wife Alice Carpenter, also a widow, in August 14, 1623 at Plymouth. He was the second signer and primary author of the Mayflower Compact.
